The industrial maintenance Mechanic/Electrician is responsible for modifying, repairing, maintaining and providing support of the production machinery and/or equipment, The industrial mechanic/electrician shall have a minimum of two (2) or more years of experience in manufacturing machinery and/or equipment with strong electrical and PLC knowledge in order to establish consistent efficiency throughout the production plant and be able to effectively communicate areas of concern within scope of responsibilities. Ensure that all safety and sanitation guidelines and GMP’s are followed.


General Duties:

  1. Electrical/Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of all production machinery/equipment and PLCs.
  2. Ensures that preventative maintenance of machinery/equipment has been performed.
  3. Performs hourly/daily visual inspection of the machinery/equipment for any malfunctions or abnormalities in order to make certain that total downtime is kept to a minimal.
  4. Verifies that machinery/equipment is equipped with appropriate safety covers/guards and all safety devices are operating properly.
  5. Provides support and assistance to other mechanic/electricians as needed.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned by dept supervisors.


Secondary Duties:

  1. Responsible for completing work reports at the completion of each assignment.
  2. Provides specific training (buddy system) to regular full time and temporary personnel with regards to the mechanical/electrical operations of the processing and packaging machinery/equipment, including efficiently maintaining the production process in accordance to company specifications.Supervisory Responsibilities: None, but is responsible for assisting department supervisors with training.



  • Associates degree (AA) from two-year college or university
  • 2-5 years related experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical/electric schematics and PLC programming.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with a variation of temperatures.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical machinery/equipment.
  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Ability to work in high, precarious places.
  • Physical demand: lifting up to 60 pounds, pushing/Pulling, walking/Standing for 8 hours, climbing stairs
