Overview

 

Director of Sales, National Broker Accounts ensures achievement of regional sales goals and profit objectives through effective management of sales team, broker organization and direct accounts.

Responsibilities

The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability – with or without reasonable accommodation – to perform the following duties but not limited to:

 

  • Builds a team that develops and maintains positive working relationships with brokers and broker representatives ensuring effective, professional representation of Nissin products and the Nissin Foods organization. Communicates with brokers regarding sales plans and sales volume objectives, as appropriate.
  •  Develops promotional strategies in cooperation with brokers and broker representatives. Plans and coordinates promotional activities.   Analyzes results, makes adjustments or recommendations, as appropriate. 
  • Reviews market strategies to identify new customers and new business opportunities. Develops and implements sales plans/programs designed to increase market share. 
  • Attends to general administrative duties in support of regional sales efforts including, but not limited to, preparation and analysis of reports, conducting research on competition, and retail audits. Furnishes information to sales management, as required. Makes recommendations and adjustments, as appropriate. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages five (5) Regional Sales Managers. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Finance, or Marketing. Master’s preferable but not required. Minimum of seven (7) year’s sales management experience in a combination of retail, wholesale, and broker environments.

 

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Financial Acumen: Ability to calculate forecasts and understand basic financial statements. Must understand and be able to calculate promotional investments, ROI, Payback, discounts, interest, commissions.

 

Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Strategic Agility: Must be able to understand and execute the company’s strategic vision within the customer. Candidate should have the ability to craft their tactics in alignment with the customer’s business strategy.

 

Account Penetration / Relationship Building: Candidate should have a proven track record of building key business relationships with the defined customers.

 

Building Effective Teams: Candidate must be able to build teams around a collective mission that deliver the business objectives.

 

Category Insights: Candidate must have experience utilizing syndicated data to better understand their business and the category dynamics. Must then be able to utilize those insights to execute their business plan.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency utilizing Internet software and Microsoft Office suite of tools.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office.

 

Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel 40% of the time.
