Sales Fund Analyst

The Sales Fund Analyst will ensure accuracy and efficiency on sales promotions in the Trade Promotion Management system (TPM) for a given territory. This role will work closely with Brokers and Sales Managers to ensure timely and accurate deal entry in Trade Promotion Management/NAV system. The Sales Fund Analyst will also assist with sales and spend planning activities. Additionally, the role will be focused on assisting in improving and optimizing forecasting accuracy through reporting, audits and post promotion analysis. The  Sales Fund Analyst will interface with various cross functional teams.


Essential Functions – Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties but not limited to:


  • Trade Promotion Planning & Analysis


    • Maintains the Aging Report for the territory assigned at the level set forth by management.
    • Audits and reconciles various types of claims deducted from invoice payments and payable requests, such as promotional allowances, post audits, distribution and marketing claims through broker’s Acosta Relay System and though Nissin TPM/NAV.
    • Participate in bi-monthly deduction claims calls with broker
    • Ensure credits are processed through process/system timely and accurately. Monitor and collaborate with Sales Managers and Brokers to resolve trade fund issues including receiving trade spend details or promotions.
    • Work with Customer Fulfillment to ensure order have correct promotions and pricing
    • Analyze incremental trade funding request provide recommendations on approval.
    • Create and distribute post-promotional analysis regarding on-time deal entry, deal accuracy, and audit deals for appropriate back-up.
    • Reconcile promotional accrual reports with Sales Manager on a monthly basis
    • Assist with the development of annual trade spend budgets.


  • Sales Planning and Budgets
    • Tracks promotions from contact offers to performance through to deduction claim
    • Update revenue and spend estimates monthly/quarterly for assigned list of accounts
    • Assist with ensuring accuracy and compliance in the Trade Promotion Management/NAV system and in the Broker’s Acosta Relay claims/contract portal system.
    • Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of the TPM/NAV system and Broker’s claim contract portal in order to proactively identify ways to improve efficiency and accuracy in both systems.
    • Update and publish key KPI reports. Proactively seek ways to improve insightfulness and efficiency of reports.
    • Create, maintain and distribute reports; provide insight and recommendations on ways to improve.


  • Other Duties

    • Assist with the documentation of Trade Spend policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university; or at least 4 years’ experience in the CPG Industry or Broker representing CPG clients with knowledge in Trade Promotion Management.
  • Experience working with retail customers is desirable.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication.  This role will be communicating with brokers and customers on a regular basis and must be able to compose correspondence and reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret tade policies and procedures
  • Possess project management, multi-tasking and cross-functional team skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (format spreadsheets, formulate calculations, and create pivot tables), MS Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, ratios, interest, proportions, percentages and volume.
  • Ability to apply accounting system processes and concepts and understand promotional accrual systems.
  • Comprehend trade funding methodology, invoice accuracy and financial accruals.
