  • Overview

    The Vice President of Sales provides the general management of the Sales Division including developing sales policies, objectives, initiatives, financial plans, sales goals, growth, and profit objectives to meet and maintain a healthy market share within the Company guidelines.  This responsibility includes all areas of the sales function including inside and outside sales, and customer service, and consumer service teams, and Sales Planning Department. 

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions – Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job.  Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties but not limited to:

    • Directs the sales activities by establishing goals and objectives, developing, reviewing and approving long-term and short-term strategies and action plans, and analyzing performance against those goals and objectives to maximize sales, gain profits and increase market share   and meet the financial objectives of the Company.

     

    • Provides the direction and guidance, daily, within the internal/external sales team; customer service and sales funds team; Sales Planning Department; and the Regional and Divisional Managers to meet the sales goals and objectives.

     

    • Selects, develops and motivates the Sales Groups by providing training and establishing goals and objectives, monitoring, and measuring the results of the entire team, appraising performances and taking corrective action where necessary.

     

    • Travels within the Regions to provide support to the DSM/RSM on producing profit driven programs to produce maximum case sales results and ensuring corporate direction on sales are communicated and properly executed.

     

    • Represents Nissin at “Top to Top” meetings with Nissin Brokers and with the Trade to discuss current market information and future ventures.

     

    • Negotiates complex programs with broker and trade that cannot be handled on a DSM/RSM level.

     

    • Leads various meetings (Divisional Sales Meetings to obtain feedback and give direction – bi-monthly), (the “one to one” meeting with DSM,RSM, Sales Funds and Corporate Planning teams to coordinate the administration of promotional funds – bi-annually) (National Sales Meeting to coordinate Sales Team efforts with all other company departments – bi-monthly).

     

    • Selects, review and approves the hiring/termination of broker network on an ongoing basis.

     

    • Provides sales feedback on issues and takes company direction form President.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directs the management team within the Sales Fund, District and Regional Sales Group, Customer Service and the Sales Planning Group. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the management employees.  Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and ten + years related experience in the foods manufacturing industry with combination of retail, wholesale and broker experience.  Must be an authority on the Ramen Category and Food Marketing Institute Rules and Standards.  Proven track record of the National Scope of retails and brokers.

     

    Other Qualifications:  Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
