  • Overview

    The Logistics/Transportation Manager at Nissin Foods USA plays a critical role in the flow of finished goods from our distribution network to our customers. This role reports to the head of Supply Chain and works hand-in-hand with both other Supply Chain roles (Demand & Supply Planning, Customer Service, Distribution Centers) and other company functions like Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Manufacturing.


    Essential Functions- Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job.  Qualified individuals must have the ability – with or without reasonable accommodation – to perform the following duties but not limited to:


    1. Establishing departmental policies and procedures that guarantee the effective and efficient flow of finished goods and information in order to meet customers’ requirements, both internal and external
    2. Identifying and securing transportation partners, ensuring transportation capacity to meet company needs
    3. Managing Transportation Management System and performance outcomes
    4. Directing transportation vendor selection and negotiation
    5. Developing and operating within monthly and annual transportation budgets
    6. Performing regular analysis of costs and recommending actions to minimize variance to budget
    7. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose appropriate solutions to problems
    8. Interfacing with all levels of management and departments to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability
    9. Planning, organizing, and managing the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
    10. Training, coaching, and developing Logistics Planners in the execution of our transportation strategy
    11. Managing third-party warehousing relationships and operations



    Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises logistics planners in the Supply Chain. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of Supply Chain management. A demonstrated understanding of the consumer goods industry - food industry experience preferable, but not mandatory.


    Other Qualifications:  Must be able to travel 10%.
