  • Overview

    The Sr. Supply Planning Analyst is responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels of raw materials and packaging to fulfill production demand requirements. This is a production-based role that work closely with Sales and Production planners to ensure an efficient materials flow to minimize production downtime.


    Essential Functions – Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability – with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties but not limited to:


    • Maintain MRP parameters for purchased (raw materials and packaging) inventory.
    • Initiate, plan, and execute procurement and inventory control.
    • Maintain purchase orders status and shipment tracking information in NAV.
    • Coordinate with domestic and overseas manufactures to assure supply.
    • Initiate and coordinate the necessary product movements (and transfers) to prevent out of stocks and out of date issues.
    • Interact with manufactures and negotiate procurement initiatives.
    • Assist in leading and training department personnel.
    • Coordinate with Sales planning and Marketing on promotions, new product introductions and SKU rationalization.
    • Support procurement requests from other Nissin subsidiaries.


    MRP Proficiency

    • Maintain purchased item parameters, per policy and guidelines.
    • Implement the Workflow System from beginning to end. From PO creation to Invoicing.
    • Process invoices received from vendors, freight forwarders, pier pass and other invoices that come through purchasing department for processing. Contact vendors if invoices are not received on a timely manner.
    • Match invoices with POs and packing slips. Make sure quantity billed, total amount charged, credit memos issue and other documents matched and accurate before scanning them to workflow for final approval by management.
    • Work closely with accounting department to ensure timely payment to vendors.
    • Report problems or issues encountered in NAV to the management and follow up until problem is resolved.


    Procurement and Inventory Control

    • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials and packaging from global contract manufacturers and suppliers.
    • Process POs based on sales and production forecast using MRP system in NAV.
    • Monitor open POs on your assigned commodities to ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Work closely with receiving department to make sure materials and packaging were delivered on a timely manner.
    • Prepare transfer orders for materials/packaging transfers between plants and follow through until the transfer is reviewed, completed and received at destination.
    • Monitor and update assigned commodities in NAV regularly. Such as safety stock, unit cost, unit of measure etc.
    • Monitor raw materials shelf life and create plans and actions to prevent them from expiring, such as initiating transfer between facilities to balance inventory level.
    • Proactively report raw materials and packaging availability issues to your supervisors and managers.
    • Manage the import/export of product for department in and out of the country and prepare all necessary documents needed. For example, Nissin Mexico.
    • Review all materials/packaging transfers prepared by purchasing staff for accuracy before sending them out to warehouse for final preparation for packing.
    • Ability to cover any purchasing staff that is out on leave or vacation and place order on their assigned commodities when needed.
    • Manage supply and demand for new product launches, line transactions and discontinuance. Provide leadership to purchasing team members.


    Cost Control/Quality Control & Others

    • Manage assigned vendors for raw materials and packaging regarding SQF requirements for audit such as contracting vendors for updated specification sheets, 4rd party audit as needed, MSDS, letter of guarantee or any necessary document needed by Regulatory that purchasing need to comply.
    • Request for quotes from outside freight companies for best possible rate on all transfers between plants.
    • Maintain strong working relationship and communication directly with global contract.
    • Maintain constant communication with QC, Manufacturing and vendors to address quality issues on all assigned commodities.
    • Provide cost saving ideas to reduce direct material or other cost such as handling or freight expenses.
    • Coordinate with contract overseas manufactures and suppliers for all required commercial documents and follow through until receipt of such documents.
    • Maintain and keep reports such as At Risk Materials, Financial Exposure and COA Master File updated at all times.
    • Perform other administration duties and clerical support to department heads such as ordering office supplies, requesting new raw materials or packaging samples or sending samples to new vendors etc.
    • Protect company assets/insure compliance with company polices in all activities.
    • Prepare/summarize monthly report on total financial exposure, overnight UPS/FedEx deliveries incurred and other financial activities that would impact the cost of materials/packaging.

    Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED or equivalent and seven (7) years related experience or training, A.A. degree and three (3) year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Must be able to work independently, be detail oriented and highly organized.
