  • Overview

    The VP of Marketing is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing of all of the Nissin Foods (USA)’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, product development and innovation. Oversees the development and implementation of all consumer communication, new product introductions, and other consumer driven strategies. Directs the efforts of the marketing managers, staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other business functions of Nissin Foods (USA).

    Marketing Strategy & Communications

    • Partners with staff and agency team members to architect an integrated marketing strategy.
    • Utilize market and customer data, consumer research and insights, and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities and needs in the market to support and grow existing and new efforts that will drive increased consumption.
    • Work with agency partners to optimize communications efforts in terms of saliency, persuasion and cost effectiveness across all traditional and social media channels in order to increase brand relevance.
    • Oversee program planning and implementation, ensuring strategic alignment with goals, effective paid, owned and earned resources allocation and efficient budget utilization; set program objectives to best align the budget with most critical objectives/priorities.
    • Help initiate and execute an entire online strategic marketing and social media plan to optimize this important medium.
    • Ensure a professional and inviting Web site employing the latest technology to encourage initial and repeat visits.
    • Work with VP Corporate Communications to ensure public relations strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
    • Oversee package design changes for branding, ingredients, improvement, graphic refreshers and provide quality control of printing.
    • Oversee and approve the development, production and distribution of sales support in-store materials.
    • Communicate with Sales Team clearly and regularly to provide product/marketing programs, product changes and category insights designed to help ensure effectiveness of marketing objectives.
    • Ensure that partner agencies are operating at the highest levels of effectiveness and efficiency, and that they continue their history of collaboration. Inspire the agencies to push their thinking and provide innovative ideas and solutions to association challenges.
    • Responsible for competitive analysis, strategies and tactics.
    • Measure effectiveness of the marketing departments’ efforts and implement improvements.



    • Develop and implement a 5 year innovation pipeline focused on delivering incremental profitable sales. This includes concept identification, testing and modification to help provide the best possible chances of success.
    • Identify consumer trends and needs early and utilize this information to build long and short term innovation strategy.
    • Utilize category and consumer insights to generate concepts in and out of the current section to expand the company footprint.
    • Develop marketing plans to support significant product introductions in the market. Establish strategies and measurable goals to monitor progress and ensure success.
    • Work with sales to provide the information necessary to present a compelling category story for each innovation. Work with sales management to determine and monitor field execution objectives including distribution, shelf placement, in-store communication, promotional strategies, etc.


    Team Leadership & Development 

    • Supervise managers and staff by inspiring and developing team members with a clear vision for marketing that expands the team’s horizons and adds value to their efforts, managing for optimal performance.
    • Attract, develop, motivate and lead all direct and indirect reports, and external resources. Help to enhance a culture that is collaborative and consumer-focused.


    Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise managers and staff within Marketing Group. Responsibilities include training employees, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with company policies, safety rules and applicable laws.

    Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university; and 10+ years related experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturing industry and/or combination of experience, education and training. Master’s Degree preferred.


    Other QualificationsMust have intermediate knowledge and understanding on how to review IRI, Retail Link and other third-party data sources, and intermediate knowledge of marketing research methodology.  The basic understanding of general accounting principles.
